Music

After looking at the music categories and artists, I've come up with 5 more artists to add to different categories.

Disco: I believe that Earth Wind and Fire should be up on the list. Their hit song "September" came out in 1978, and everybody seems to know its hook, "Do you remember the 21st night of September".  Even people that don't know this song can dance to the catchy, upbeat vibe of the song. Their clothing style was a great example of the 70's and 80's, and their music videos were over-the-top, especially for their time. The videos implemented trippy effects to make it seem as though there were many of one singer.

Dubstep: Dubstep is a music category that gets the heart racing. It's use of loud bass and quick repetition of noises creates songs that are great for moshing in concert. Another artist that should be added to the dubstep category is Bassnectar. Even if you don't know any of his songs, chances are, the new generation will recognize the name. Bassnectar's top songs include Speakerbox, Basshead, and Teleport Massive. His music videos, like most dubstep songs, implement different video-altering techniques like slow motion, repetition, and crazy lighting.

Punk: Punk music was very popular during the 70's, and there is still a core fan base today. I think Black Flag should be added to the list of punk music artists. Black Flag had a large number of members, and created hit songs like Rise Above, Fix Me, and White Minority. The technology they used to make their music mainly consisted of instruments like electric guitars. At their concerts, intense moshing was expected, and the scene seemed to revolve around this violence.

Girl Power: This list of powerful female musicians would not be complete without Beyonce. Beyonce has inspired millions of people, both men and women, and has secured her nickname as "Queen B". She is a symbol of power in both the musical and social world, and is married to Jay-Z, one of the most influential and successful rappers and businessmen in the world. Some of Beyonce's hit songs are "Formation", "Hold Up", and "APESH*T". Her music videos use a mix of vivid and dull colors to bring more attention to 'Yonce.

Latin: Latin music is a very dance-able category. It has a smooth flow, and is very popular in today's generation. I believe Luis Fonsi should make the list of top Latin music artists, due to his breakthrough song "Despacito". The Despacito music video racked up an incredible 5.7 billion streams on youtube, partly thanks to star Justin Bieber, but mainly caused by it's catchiness in both the lyrics and flow. The music video uses drone technology and special lighting to create an interesting image.
