Madama Butterfly

Madama Butterfly was an incredibly interesting but creepy animation opera. At the beginning, I expected it to be a romance piece between a lighter-toned sailor, and a darker, possibly native girl. The sailor and the woman have sex in the night, and the sailor leaves her, presumably to return. But once the woman waited and aged, I could tell it had a darker undertone. When the sailor returned, he simply was visiting to party with his wife and kids, even taking the baby the woman birthed from her. This causes her to to feel such despair and loss that she “disassembles”, or kills herself.
